Supporting Carers of all ages throughout Moray

History
In 1997, Elgin rotary “Marafun” raised funds for the Princess Royal Trust for Carers, to develop a Carers Project in Moray.  The Princess Royal Trust also further funded from its own resources in support of this initiative. The service began in 1999 at an office in Dr Grays Hospital and was officially opened by the Princess Royal in 2000. A Young Carers section was added to the organisation in 2001 and the Moray Carers Project moved to 227 High Street in 2002, with the official opening by The Princess Royal in March 2003. The service MCP offers continually changes and develops, but we always have Carers’ needs at the centre of our project, and continue to work towards new possibilities ahead.

Affiliation to Professional Bodies
Our affiliation to the Princess Royal Trust for Carers continues to be an important resource and support, linking us to the experience of other Carer centres throughout the UK, as well as the PRTC’s  own considerable expertise. We are also part of the Scottish Young Carers Services Alliance.
